Vision

Primary, intermediate, future... All goals that we have in place waiting upon the Lord.

We are ready to move on with these projects when God’s provision is available. We continue to trust God and His timing in accomplishing these goals. If someone, some organization, or some grant, were to ask... “If we provided you with X amount of dollars, what would you do with it?” We have an answer ready!

Our priorities regarding big projects are currently in this order:

• Large Assembly Building - A dedicated meeting space for 500 people centrally located to accommodate full campus guests.

  Ministry Value:
  Provide a designed worship and meeting space for large groups that is acoustically equipped for presentations and events. This would alleviate the dual programming stress on the Dining Hall and its equipment.

• Lakeside Campus Retrofit - Improving the 70 year old Lakeside Campus by adding restroooms to the meeting spaces, improving the environmental impact of the water and sewage systems, and fully removing the barriers to great experiences for those with disabilities. The scope of the project will include surveying, engineering, and installation with a rough estimate of $125,000.

  Ministry Value:
  “For God so loved the world” is fully expressed by the church when it includes all persons, regardless of abilities, into its care and ministry. Lake Aurora has long had a commitment to do its best, but now its best can benefit even more families.

• Completion of Hillside Cabins - A total of four housing units will be incorporated into two structures reducing the footprint on the campus. This will bring the housing capacity of the Hillside campus to 180.

  Ministry Value:
  Using a smaller footprint than four individual cabins, this will follow the plan of the James/John Cabin where two units are built as one. A common meeting space will be offered between them creating a stand alone small retreat option.

• Stirring Waters - A barrier free aquatic facility consisting of a lagoon, a splash zone, and a lazy river. It will provide transgenerational aquatic opportunities to the Hillside Campus and alternate opportunities to the lake.

  Ministry Value:
  Will remove the barriers to great experiences for those with disabilities, from birth issues to strokes, and allow them to enjoy the sunshine of God’s love as expresssed here at Lake Aurora.

• Valencia Leadership Lodge - A lodge consisting of individual housing units suitable for adults as well as youth, with an adjoining meeting space.

  Ministry Value:
  Provide space for the Alpha and Omega leadership program in the summer opening up at least 16-18 beds for summer campers. It would also serve as leadership retreat space for churches throughout the year.

While these are large capital projects, there are still many smaller projects on our radar that we have ready and waiting to be started, including but not limited to:

• The Herman and Sadie Davis Porch... a walk-out, second level porch for the Lakeside Chapel that overlooks Lake Aurora to include Chapel indoor, inclusive restrooms. The Davis family was the original caretakers for Lake Aurora in 1947. Approx. $20,000
• Sidewalk to the Hillside Steel Tent to accommodate those with mobility challenges. Approx. $4,000 - Completed 2018! - Thank you!!
• Legacy Lamp Post installation on the Hillside campus to provide adequate lighting. - 3 purchased - need 7 more. $750 per lamp post.
