Core Values Practiced at Lake Aurora
- Children and youth are our first priority. We will seek to service the entire church population in so far as it does not conflict with our first priority.
- Our mission is to support the mission of the church. We do not define the mission of the church.
- We will seek to have an informed and trained staff who are at the cutting edge of Christian camping.
- Our order of processing is based on the principle that Christ died for individuals, He established the church as the program to collect the individuals, and He uses resources to meet the needs of individuals. So, it is people first, programs to help them next, and money to support the programs last. Not money or institutions first.
- We recognize that we are a part of a bigger organizational structure, thus we will act with fiscal responsibility, so as to not put the bigger structure at risk.
- We recognize that we are not an entity unto ourselves, but we are owned by a group of churches. We will seek to involve them in all aspects of leadership, decision making, and responsibility.
- Every stakeholder has a right to express himself and we have the responsibility to listen.
- Our value system will be that of authentic Christianity as taught in the New Testament.
- We recognize the responsibility of church pastors (Elders/Ministers) to be the interpreters of doctrine. Where differences occur, we will seek the common ground.
- We will act with vision. If our plans are not big enough to require God’s blessings in order to succeed, then they are not big enough.
